Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to structure fires on Pritchard Avenue and Ross Avenue West this evening.
Pritchard Avenue fire
At 4:19 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022, a WFPS crew was returning to their station when they came across smoke in the 400 block of Pritchard Avenue. Upon investigating, they found that two neighbouring houses were involved with fire.
Additional crews were dispatched and firefighters worked to extinguish the flames in both homes. The fire was declared under control at 4:38 p.m. Damage was contained to the exterior of the houses.
Crews searched the interior of both homes and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.
No damage estimates are available. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Ross Avenue West fire
At 4:32 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a two-and-a-half storey house in the 1500 block of Ross Avenue West.
When crews arrived at the scene, they found smoke coming from the house. They attacked the fire from the inside of the house, declaring it under control at 4:56 p.m.
A search of the house was completed and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.
No damage estimates are available. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
