Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Sutherland Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 6:36 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire involving two vehicles in the 100 block of Sutherland Avenue.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found two vehicles fully-engulfed in flames with the fire spreading to a two-storey commercial building. Crews extinguished the vehicle fires and launched an offensive attack to extinguish the fire in the structure.

There were no occupants in the building at the time of the fire. One firefighter was treated on the scene for a minor injury. They did not require transport to hospital. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
