Winnipeg, MB – At 1:57 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey duplex in the 600 block of Aberdeen Avenue.
When crews arrived on scene, they found smoke and flames coming from the structure. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared extinguished at 2:21 p.m.
All occupants of the suite self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. The adjacent suite was temporarily evacuated as a precaution. Those residents were able to return to their home once it was safe to do so. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
