Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Inkster Garden Drive

Winnipeg, MB – At 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey apartment building in the 0 to 100 block of Inkster Garden Drive.

When crews arrived on scene, they found smoke coming from the structure. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 5:26 p.m. Fire damage was contained to the suite where the fire originated, but several suites sustained water damage.

Occupants of the building safely self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. No injuries were reported. The City’s Emergency Social Services were called to assist the displaced residents in finding temporary accommodations.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
