Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg announced three park improvement projects today that will improve recreational opportunities for residents in the ward of Charleswood-Tuxedo-Westwood. The projects include a rejuvenation of John Steel Park (300 Westwood Dr.), pathway replacement in Swindon Oaks Park (40 Swindon Way), and a renewal of Beachemin Park (67 Elmvale Cres.).
“With its renovated pathways, play areas, and site furniture, the revitalized parks in the different communities across Winnipeg will offer residents a fun, safe place to get outside and stay active with friends and family,” said the Honourable Jim Carr, Member of Parliament for Winnipeg South Centre, on behalf of the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Infrastructure and Communities. “Projects like these are made possible through collaboration with our partners. Greater access to improved recreational infrastructure will contribute to more vibrant communities for generations to come.”
“Manitobans love being outdoors, enjoying the parks in their community, and our government is committed to providing those opportunities,” said Reg Helwer, Manitoba Minister of Labour, Consumer Protection and Government Services. “Our Manitoba government is committed to the health and well-being of people across the province, and we are pleased to administer the federal Canada Community-Building Fund for projects just these in Charleswood-Tuxedo-Westwood.”

That’s why I’m excited and grateful to join with my Provincial and Federal colleagues to announce even more improvements thanks to their commitment to our community.”
