Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Strauss Drive

Winnipeg, MB – At 7:30 a.m. on August 9, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey townhouse in the 0 to 100 block of Strauss Drive.

When crews arrived, they found smoke in the building. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 7:48 a.m. The fire was contained to the suite where it originated.

The occupant of the suite was not home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. The City’s Emergency Social Services team was called to assist the resident in finding temporary accommodations.

The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
