Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire at Westridge Community Club

Winnipeg, MB – At 6:26 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to multiple reports of fire on the exterior of Westridge Community Club located at 3 Marshall Crescent.

When crews arrived on-scene, they found fire and smoke coming from the bench area of a hockey shack that was connected to a hockey rink.

They launched an offensive strategy, hitting the fire from the exterior and entering the structure to check for further extension. The fire was declared under control at 7:09 p.m..

The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Fire damage was primarily contained to the exterior bench area of the hockey rink, with minor smoke and water damage to the interior of the hockey shack. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
