Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Sansome Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a vehicle fire at a bungalow in the 200 block of Sansome Avenue.

Once on-scene, crews encountered a well involved car fire in an attached car port that quickly extended to the structure and contents of the port. They launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 8:01 p.m.

One occupant self-evacuated prior to crew arrival. No other injuries were reported.

The car port and contents suffered extensive fire, smoke, and water damage, with fire extension to one side of the home and smoke damage throughout the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.
