Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Pritchard Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 7:43 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a single-storey industrial building in the 100 block of Prichard Avenue.

Once on-scene, crews found smoke throughout the building. They launched an offensive attack, locating the fire and quickly extinguishing it. Crews proceeded to ventilate the structure thoroughly.

Occupants self-evacuated prior to crew arrival. No injuries were reported.

Pritchard Avenue was temporarily closed in both directions from Main Street to Magnus Avenue to facilitate fire operations.

No damage estimates are available at this time. The building suffered fire damage to a small portion of the structure and smoke damage throughout. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
