Taxi license lottery event to select 60 successful lottery applicants to apply for a taxi licenses

Winnipeg, MB – On February 23, MNP LLP will conduct the February 2018 Taxi License Lottery on behalf of the City of Winnipeg. The first 60 randomly drawn lottery applicants will be given the opportunity to apply for a taxi license. All other lottery applicants will be drawn to form a waiting list that will be used, should the any of the first 60 applicants not fulfill the requirements for a taxi license within 60 days (by April 30, 2018). There were 3,200 applications for the lottery.

The event details are as follows:
Date: Friday, February 23, 2018
Time: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Location: CanadInns Destination Centre Polo Park, 1405 St Matthews Ave.

Those who have entered the taxi license lottery are welcome to attend. Space is limited. Attendance is not required to be selected in the lottery.

The first 100 names will be randomly drawn at this event and all other names will be randomly selected electronically afterwards. The list of all applicants, and their place on the lottery list, will be posted on the City’s website after the lottery process has concluded. The Winnipeg Parking Authority will also contact the 60 successful applicants next week, and provide them with the information necessary to complete the licensing process.
