Animal Services hosts Pet Photos with Santa

Winnipeg, MB – Give your pet a chance to share their holiday wishes! Santa will be at Animal Services for seasonal pet photos on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Families without pets are also welcome to attend and can “borrow” an adoptable dog for the photo. Photos with Santa are $10 and are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Off-leash Dog Areas Master Plan team will also be at Animal Services during the Santa Photo event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The City of Winnipeg is developing the Off-Leash Dog Areas Master Plan to respond to growing interest and demand for off-leash dog areas in Winnipeg. The Master Plan will address the needs of all park users and will develop a vision and implementation strategy for off-leash dog areas throughout Winnipeg. Attendees will be able to fill out a survey at the event and talk to the team regarding off-leash dog areas in Winnipeg. There will also be presentation boards with information about the plan and iPads for people to fill out the survey. For more information on the master plan visit: winnipeg.ca/offleashareas.

About the Animal Services Agency:
The Animal Services Agency provides animal control measures to help both people and animals under the Responsible Pet Ownership By-law. Animal Services officers handle more than 10,000 community incidents a year involving animals. The Agency operates successful adoption, volunteer, and foster programs and provide additional services including housing stray dogs and reuniting them with their owners, as well as responding to emergencies such as house fires or car accidents to help ensure the safety of pets involved in emergency situations.
