Homicide – Public Assistance: C21-54053

Today marks one year since Michael Dwayne Gunnar DAHLIN, a 28-year-old male of Winnipeg, was murdered.

On March 10, 2021, at 7:15 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of Stella Avenue and McGregor Street for the report of human remains found in the area.

The deceased victim was subsequently identified as Michael DAHLIN.

Homicide – Arrest & Public Assistance Requested: C22-23528

The Homicide Unit has made an arrest and is seeking a second suspect in the homicide of Heather Marie Cheyane Beardy, a 26-year-old female of Winnipeg.

On February 2, 2022, at approximately 1:10 p.m., General Patrol officers responded to circumstances at an apartment block in the 400 block of Furby Street where they located Beardy deceased. Members of the Homicide Unit continued with the investigation.

Homicide – Arrest: C22-40359

Detectives from the Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit have made a second arrest in the murder of Paul Enns. Enns had been located, deceased, on February 26, 2022, in a parking lot near Corydon Avenue and Conservatory Drive.

On March 4, 2022, investigators arrested a 17-year-old male from Warren, Manitoba. He has been charged with Second Degree Murder and Robbery. He was detained in custody.

Assault – Arrest: C22-43409

On March 2, 2022, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Winnipeg Police Service Foot Patrol officers responded to an assault in the Skywalk system.

The victim (a female in her seventies) uses portable oxygen and travels in a motorized wheelchair. She was travelling through the Skywalk near the Canada Life Centre and Cityplace entrance when a male not known to the victim attacked her from behind. She was punched in the face, causing injury and breaking her eyeglasses.

Stabbing – Arrest: C22-43034

On March 1, 2022, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Central District officers, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, responded to a stabbing at an apartment building in the 400 block of Kennedy Street. A concerned bystander found an injured male lying inside an elevator and contacted police.

Police located the victim (a male in his fifties) and provided emergency medical care. He was subsequently transported to hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

Robbery with Firearm – Arrests: C22-43207

On March 1, 2022, at approximately 11:15 p.m., General Patrol officers, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, responded to the 300 block of St. Anne’s Road for a robbery with a firearm.

Homicide – Arrest: C22-40359

On February 26, 2022, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a Wellbeing call at a parking lot near Shaftesbury Boulevard and Conservatory Drive. Responding officers located a deceased adult male in a vehicle parked at that location.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation and determined it to be a homicide.

The deceased has been identified as Paul ENNS, a 43-year-old male of Winnipeg.

Drug Offence – Arrest: C22-41442

In February 2022, members of the Guns & Gangs Unit began a drug trafficking investigation into the activities of a male residing in the 100 block of Inkster Boulevard.

During the evening of February 27, 2022, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was executed at the residence with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team.

The male was safely taken into custody. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of approximately 4.8 ounces of cocaine (with an estimated street value of about $10,000) and body armour.

Weapons – Arrest: C22-41304

On February 27, 2022, at approximately 11:45 a.m., North District Community Support Unit members were in the 500 block of Magnus Avenue when they observed a male known to them as part of a firearms investigation. A traffic stop was conducted, and the male was safely taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a loaded .22 calibre revolver.

Weapons – Arrest: C22-41587

On February 27, 2022, at 9:10 p.m., Central District General Patrol officers, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and AIR1, responded to a shelter in the South Point Douglas area for a report of a male in psychosis that was believed to be armed with a firearm.

Upon arrival, officers located the male inside the building and safely took him into custody with a Conducted Energy Weapon (“Taser”). He was found to be in possession of bear spray and a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
