Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Pritchard Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 11:39 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021 the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey duplex in the 800 block of Pritchard Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, they encountered smoke and flames coming from the building. They launched an offensive attack and the fire was declared under control at 12:31 p.m.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Jamison Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 10:19 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey residence in the 200 block of Jamison Avenue.

Once on-scene, crews encountered smoke coming from the building. They launched an offensive attack and the fire was declared under control at 10:46 p.m.

A search of the building was completed and no human occupants were found. Crews did locate one cat and brought it to safety. No injuries were reported.

City of Winnipeg celebrates opening of the Sturgeon Creek Greenway Trail

Winnipeg, MB – Today, the City of Winnipeg marked the opening of the Sturgeon Creek Greenway Trail, located between Hamilton Avenue and Saskatchewan Avenue along the east side of Sturgeon Creek. The reconstructed pathway completes the Yellow Ribbon Trail, an important multi-use active transportation route connecting St. James to Downtown.

Temporary closure of Hargrave Street between St. Mary Avenue and Graham Avenue this weekend

Winnipeg, MB – Northbound Hargrave Street between St. Mary Avenue and Graham Avenue will be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 7 for crane work. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Access to the parkade at 266 Hargrave Street will be maintained via Donald Street and Graham Avenue.

Motorists are advised to use an alternate route and to plan for additional travel time to reach their destinations.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Alfred Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 9:14 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a single-family bungalow in the 500 block of Alfred Avenue.

Once on scene, crews encountered heavy black smoke coming from the building. They launched an offensive attack and the fire was quickly declared under control at 9:32 p.m.

A search of the building was completed and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Sargent Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 2:55 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey apartment complex in the 700 block of Sargent Avenue.

Once on scene, crews encountered smoke coming from a suite. They launched an offensive attack and the fire was declared under control at 3:25 p.m.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Murray Avenue and Maryland Street

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two fires this afternoon.

Murray Avenue Fire

At 12:52 p.m., the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half storey house in the 1200 block of Murray Avenue.

When crews arrived on-scene, they encountered a well-involved fire. Crews launched a defensive attack, and are expected to be on-scene for an extended period of time addressing the fire.
