Extended Snow Route Parking Ban lifted

Residential Parking Ban in effect starting tomorrow morning at 7 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB – The Extended Snow Route Parking Ban that was put into effect at 12 a.m. on Monday, February 21 has now been lifted. We thank all residents for their cooperation.

The Extended Snow Route Parking Ban is an extension of the Annual Snow Route Parking Ban, which is currently in effect daily from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. until February 28, 2022.

Extended Snow Route Parking Ban in effect starting tonight at midnight; Residential Parking Ban to begin on Wednesday at 7 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB – In response to recent accumulations of snow and to facilitate snow clearing operations city-wide, the City of Winnipeg is declaring parking bans.

An Extended Snow Route Parking Ban will be in effect on streets designated as Snow Routes starting tonight at 12 a.m. The Extended Snow Route Parking Ban extends the Annual Snow Route Parking Ban by two hours, prohibiting parking on snow routes between midnight and 7 a.m.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Aberdeen Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 2:32 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, two-storey house in the 300 block of Aberdeen Avenue.

Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered smoke coming from the house. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 3:07 a.m.

Crews completed a search of the home and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Sherbrook Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 11:42 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2021, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, three-storey apartment building in the 600 block of Sherbrook Street.

Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered heavy smoke coming from the building. A defensive attack was launched using aerial ladders and hose streams as fire conditions made it unsafe for firefighters to enter the structure.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Point Douglas Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 9:05 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of smoke in the 0 to 100 block of Point Douglas Avenue.

When crews arrived on-scene to investigate, they found a well-involved fire with heavy smoke coming from a vacant warehouse. Accessing the building was a challenge due to deep snow on the property. A front-end loader was deployed to the scene to clear a path in the snow for the fire apparatus and crews.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to carbon monoxide incident

Winnipeg, MB – At 4:28 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a carbon monoxide alarm activation in a five-storey condominium building in the 100 block of Tuxedo Avenue. Upon arrival on scene, crews used handheld carbon monoxide detectors to confirm the presence of the deadly gas in portions of the building.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Toronto Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 10:51 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey, single-family house in the 600 block of Toronto Street.

Once on-scene, crews encountered smoke and a small fire that was out on arrival.

One patient was treated on-scene by paramedics and taken to hospital in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported.

The building suffered minor damage to contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Herbert Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 3:16 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey, single-family house in the 600 block of Herbert Avenue.

Once on-scene, crews encountered smoke coming from the building. They launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 4:55 a.m.

One occupant self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. No injuries were reported.
