Winnipeg, MB - The 2017 preliminary operating and capital budgets tabled at a special Executive Policy Committee meeting are balanced, limit expenditure increases to the lowest level in ten years, and continue to build Winnipeg for the future without relying on any rate increases to frontage levies, the water and sewer dividend, or vacancy management estimates, Mayor Brian Bowman announced today.
Winnipeg, MB - City crews are ‘ready-to-serve’ and prepared to deal with snow that is in the forecast for Winnipeg tonight. Crews are monitoring road conditions and have sanding and salting operations in a ready to deploy status. Accumulations of snow will be monitored and further decisions will be made as the weather system passes through the City.
Any required sanding and plowing efforts will initially focus on main routes, bus routes and collector streets. There are no winter parking bans currently in effect.

Santa will be at Animal Services for seasonal pet photos on Saturday, November 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Families without dogs are also welcome to attend and can "borrow" an adoptable dog for the photo. Photos with Santa are $10 and are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
