Temporary closure of Stradbrook Avenue this Saturday for Village Winter Classic 2017

Winnipeg, MB - Stradbrook Avenue from Nassau Street North to Osborne Street will be temporarily closed to eastbound traffic this Saturday, January 28 from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. for the Village Winter Classic 2017 street hockey festival.

Motorists are advised to allow for additional travel time or to use alternate routes in this area to reach their destinations.

City opens second 4R Winnipeg Depot

Winnipeg, MB - Beginning today, the Pacific Avenue 4R Winnipeg Depot is open for business and residents can drop off items that can be recycled, reused, composted, or resold. The facility is located at 1120 Pacific Avenue, between McPhillips Street and Weston Street, and is the second 4R Winnipeg Depot to open in the city.

City's new Transportation Management Centre officially opens

Winnipeg, MB - Winnipeg's new Transportation Management Centre (TMC) officially opened and will begin to improve traffic flow as well as provide real-time traffic information to drivers using the Waze app Mayor Brian Bowman announced today.

The leading-edge facility will be monitoring all 650 signalized intersections across the city, and is capable of remotely responding in real-time to signal malfunctions and unexpected traffic incidents to maintain and improve traffic flow.

Public invited to an open house for the Chief Peguis Greenway Extension

Bulletin #3 - City of Winnipeg weather related service updates

Winnipeg, MB - Due to yesterday's blowing snow conditions and extremely cold temperatures, the City of Winnipeg's garbage and recycling collection service continues to experience some delays.

Garbage and recycling collection is operating slower than normal. Delays are expected (more information below).

The Brady 4R Winnipeg Depot remains closed but materials will be accepted at an alternate location within the Brady Road Resource Management Facility (more information below).

2017 Speaker Series featured at Living Prairie Museum

Winnipeg, MB - The Friends of the Living Prairie Museum Winter Speaker Series will begin January 24, 2017, and will take place from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. every other Tuesday. An interesting group of speakers are ready to share their fascinating work.
