Winnipeg, MB – As part of its commitment to improving safety on buses, Winnipeg Transit is proposing the creation of a Transit Advisory Committee to review industry practices, assess and determine trends and recommend strategies to improve safety on the Winnipeg Transit system.

Winnipeg Transit is recommending the following persons be appointed as members of the Transit Advisory Committee:

Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg is conducting public engagement to determine the level of public interest in banning smoking on outdoor patios at bars and restaurants. Winnipeggers are invited to provide input via an online survey, available until September 26, 2017.

Winnipeg, MB – Do you walk or bike in the Wolseley and West End neighbourhoods? The City wants to hear from you to help refine plans for a Walk Bike project connecting the Wolseley and West Alexander neighbourhoods.

Winnipeg, MB – The Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex pool, sauna, track and weight room will be temporarily closed during the month of September for scheduled maintenance. The Winnipeg Public Library at this location will remain open.

Closure dates are as follows:

Pool, Sauna and All Changing Facilities
Will be closed from Sunday, September 3 to Saturday, September 30.

Track and Weight Room
Will be closed from Monday, September 11 to Sunday, September 17.

Tips if you are giving away items

Winnipeg, MB – The Arlington Bridge will be temporarily closed from Logan Avenue to Dufferin Avenue, starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, September 4 until Friday, September 8 at 7 p.m. to facilitate a film production.

Motorists should use alternate routes such as the McPhillips Street Underpass or Slaw Rebchuck Bridge.
