Winnipeg, MB – Southbound Donald Street between Portage Avenue and St. Mary Avenue will be closed to accommodate the Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party, along with associated set-up and take-down, from 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 13 until 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14.

Motorists should allow additional travel time to get to their destinations, and use alternate routes such as Main Street and Osborne Street.

City launches free Wi-Fi on buses pilot project

Winnipeg, MB. – Today, the City of Winnipeg launched a year-long pilot project which will provide free Wi-Fi to Winnipeg Transit passengers on 12 buses, on various routes throughout the city.

Buses providing the service are clearly marked to indicate that Wi-Fi services are available. Transit tools such as NAVIGO, Telebus and WinnipegTransit.com will indicate Wi-Fi-enabled trips with a Wi-Fi icon.

City of Winnipeg’s Insect Control Branch hosts North Central Mosquito Control Annual Meeting

Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg’s Insect Control Branch will be hosting, for the first time, the 14th Annual Meeting of the North Central Mosquito Control Association (NCMCA) on April 5 and 6. This association promotes safe, effective mosquito control and serves the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin and the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Western Ontario.
