Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Furby Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 10:23 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to report of a two-and-a-half story house on fire in the 600 block of Furby Street.

When WFPS arrived on scene there was heavy smoke coming from the home. Crews launched a defensive exterior attack, as conditions did not allow for a safe internal attack.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Simcoe Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 7:56 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a vacant house in the 500 block of Simcoe Street.

When WFPS arrived on scene there were smoke and flames coming from the house. Crews launched an exterior attack until they could safely fight the fire from inside the house. The fire was declared under control at 8:30 p.m.

Crews searched the home to confirm there was no one inside. No injuries were reported.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Aikins Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 3:02 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in two-storey home in the 400 block of Aikins St.

When crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke was coming from the home. Crews launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 3:25 a.m.

All occupants safely self-evacuated before WFPS arrived. Paramedics treated four patients on scene but no transportation to hospital was required. Crews rescued a cat from the building and reunited it with its owners.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Mountain Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 7:32 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a one-storey commercial building in the 700 block of Mountain Avenue.

Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered smoke coming from the building. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 7:54 p.m.

City of Winnipeg reopening indoor pools, offering Leisure Guide programming this spring

Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg’s indoor pools previously closed due to COVID-19 restrictions will begin reopening to members of the public on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 25 percent capacity for aquatic sports groups, lane swimming, aquatic fitness classes, and limited public swimming.
