Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Flora Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 11:25 a.m. on May 10, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey house in the 400 block of Flora Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, they encountered smoke in the house and launched an offensive fire attack. The fire was declared under control at 11:59 a.m.

There were no occupants inside at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental. Damage estimates are not available at this time.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to grass fire in Elmwood

Winnipeg, MB – At 3:00 p.m. on May 9, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to a large wildland fire in a grassy area near Foster Street and Tyne Avenue in Elmwood. It was estimated to cover an area the size of two football fields. With wind speeds gusting to over 45km/h, the fire was at serious risk of further spread.

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to a significant grass fire and a house fire in the early hours of May 9, 2021.

At 12:10 a.m. on May 9, 2021, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey, multi-family house in the 500 block of William Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, they found smoke in the house and launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control at 12:31 a.m.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to large grass fire near Dugald Road

Winnipeg, MB – At 6:40 p.m. on May 8, 2021, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of a grass fire in the vicinity of Bournais Drive and Dugald Road in Mission Gardens. It was estimated to cover an area the size of four football fields. With wind speeds gusting to nearly 40km/h, the fire was spreading rapidly.

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) rescued an individual from the Red River and responded to a large grass fire last evening.

At 7:23 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of an individual in the Red River near Tache Avenue.

One of the residents who called 911 maintained a sightline of the individual until crews arrived and were able to direct the crews to the appropriate location.

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to three afternoon fires today.

Sherbrook Street Fire

At 1:28 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in the 400 block of Sherbrook Street.

Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered a fire involving mattresses and garbage. The fire was quickly brought under control. No injuries were reported.
