Winnipeg, MB – We have awarded a total of $2,516,456 in grants to 60 non-profit organizations making a difference in our communities. This funding is being awarded through the 2025 Community and Neighbourhood Grant Program.

Information on the program and the full list of awards is available at: winnipeg.ca/communityneighbourhoodgrant

We received more than $15 million in funding requests. Grants are being distributed to 60 different community organizations working to make our city a better, safer, and more vibrant place to live.

A significant portion of funding is going to 13 organizations that directly support people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. These organizations are receiving a combined $725,000 in funding – a 117 percent increase over what was provided to similar initiatives last year.

This is the first distribution of the Community and Neighbourhood Grant Program, which provides operating grants to organizations.

The new program is a single-intake system that streamlines the process for grants previously managed individually within City departments.

It makes access to funding more equitable across community organizations and helps us ensure organizations whose mandate aligns with Council-adopted strategic priorities have access to the resources they need to deliver their services.

The new system allows us to support a wider array of projects and programs than ever before across all our operational grant funding.

Grants have been awarded across four funding streams:

  • Environmental / Green City
  • Recreation
  • Community well-being
  • Arts and culture

The grant program will re-open for applications in Summer 2026.
