Winnipeg, MB – Bus passengers can now preview schedules and plan trips for the Primary Transit Network and its feeder routes on winnipegtransit.com and the Winnipeg Transit app. These features are being made available for transit riders to test out ahead of the launch of Winnipeg’s new transit network on June 29, 2025.
“Making such comprehensive changes to an entire public transit system for a city the size of Winnipeg is a monumental task, but I’m pleased to see that the City of Winnipeg has done it,” said Glen Simard, Manitoba Minister for Municipal and Northern Relations. “I congratulate the mayor and council for their initiative to improve transit services, update schedules and routes and make public transit in Manitoba’s largest city more accessible and user-friendly.”
“You can now see exactly how you’ll get anywhere in Winnipeg, with routes that are more frequent, more direct, and easier to use,” said Mayor Scott Gillingham. “This is a complete transformation of our transit system, with more efficient, more reliable service for more Winnipeggers.”
The changes coming as part of the Primary Transit Network make up the largest schedule and route update in Transit’s history. As a result, users are invited to test out trip planning on the new network and re-learn routes to their preferred destinations.
People visiting winnipegtransit.com will now see an option to preview stops, routes, and trip plans for the new network on every page. When planning a trip in preview mode, the date will automatically be set to the same day of the week in mid-July. You can adjust the trip time as needed. Printable timetables are also available in the ‘Explore routes’ section of the website.
We are also prepared to fix any technical issues as we become aware of them. Passengers who see an unexpected or strange Navigo result are asked to please report them to 311 with details or a screenshot. Feedback will help improve the service for everyone.
Construction of infrastructure to support the new network, such as traffic signals and bus stop signs and platforms, is ongoing. It will continue post-launch, thanks to funding from all three levels of government through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
