Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Point Douglas Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 4:22 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to a fire in a commercial building in the 0-100 block of Point Douglas Avenue. A WFPS rescue unit was driving by the building when they noticed the fire and notified the 911 Communications Centre of the fire.

At the scene, crews saw smoke coming from the building. Firefighters attacked the fire from inside, declaring the fire under control at 4:53 p.m.

No injuries were reported. Firefighters searched the building to ensure there was no one inside.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no damage estimates are available.
