City seeking to install a temporary WFPS station at 110 Eaglewood Drive
Winnipeg, MB – To better serve the residents in Waverley West, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) is seeking to install a temporary, pre-built fire paramedic station at 110 Eaglewood Drive.
This station, which could be operational by late 2023, would house a fire engine and crew until a permanent station in Waverley West can be completed. A temporary station would ensure crews can get to emergency calls in the area faster, providing better service to Waverley West.
Residents are invited to attend the public information session to learn more about the project:
Wednesday, November 16, 2022
École South Point School, 615 Kirkbridge Dr.
Community Use Room
7-8 p.m.
Members of the project team, including WFPS officials, will provide a presentation about the project, followed by a question-and-answer period.
The Council-approved 2020 Strategic Direction proposed fewer WFPS stations (a reduction from 30 stations to 23) strategically positioned to improve response performance city-wide. The temporary station project builds on the consolidation of Stations 9 and 15, which allows WFPS to assign an engine and crew to the temporary station in Waverley West while maintaining service levels in other areas of the city.
