City of Winnipeg spray pads to start opening tomorrow

Outdoor pools begin opening June 20; wading pools begin opening July 1

Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg will begin opening spray pads starting tomorrow, Saturday, May 28.

“After a long winter, we’re thrilled to finally begin opening our outdoor aquatic amenities, beginning with spray pads tomorrow,” said Sherri Rollins, Chairperson of the Standing Policy Committee on Protection, Community Services and Parks. “We’re ready to welcome visitors of all ages to enjoy these outdoor attractions, whether for fun, exercise, or to cool down during the summer months.”

Spray pads operate from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., every day of the week until September 5. Please check City of Winnipeg – Spray Pads or contact 311 for a full list of locations and opening status.

Outdoor Pools

Heated outdoor pools are anticipated to open on Monday, June 20, while unheated pools are anticipated to open on Thursday, June 30.

All outdoor pools will operate seven days a week, weather permitting. Information on pool hours and amenities will be available at City of Winnipeg – Outdoor Pools or by contacting 311.

Wading Pools

The City’s wading pools are anticipated to begin opening on a staggered basis as of Friday, July 1.

Operating hours vary by wading pool; locations and hours will be available at City of Winnipeg – Wading Pools or by contacting 311.
