Winnipeggers invited to provide input on recycling strategy for apartments and condos

Released: April 19, 2022 at 12:37 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg is developing a recycling strategy for apartments and condos in an effort to reduce the amount of waste going to the landfill and is looking for input from residents.

The City is committed to increasing the waste diversion rate and doing its part to help prevent climate change. One way to do this is by increasing waste diversion. In 2020, only 14 percent of the waste produced by apartments and condos stayed out of the landfill, compared to 31 percent of all waste in the city.

We want residents living in apartments and condos to tell us what programs and services they currently use, the barriers they face, and how we can make recycling easier and more convenient.

Residents can provide feedback by taking an online survey until May 8, 2022, or take part in one of our virtual open house sessions.
