Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Burrows Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 6:06 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a vacant bungalow in the 300 block of Burrows Avenue.

When crews arrived on-scene, they encountered a well-involved fire with heavy smoke and flames venting from the structure. A defensive attack was launched, and the fire was declared under control at 6:42 p.m. Once it was safe to do so, crews entered the structure to fully extinguish all hot spots.

Crews completed a search of the structure and no occupants were found. One neighbouring home was temporarily evacuated as a precaution. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time. The home had suffered significant damage in a previous fire in May 2021.
