Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Manahan Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At approximately 9:24 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a working fire in a two-storey commercial building in the 1200 block of Manahan Avenue.

When crews arrived on-scene, they encountered heavy smoke coming from the structure. Due to deteriorating structural conditions, crews launched a defensive fire attack using an aerial ladder and hose streams to extinguish the fire. The fire was declared under control at approximately 2:09 p.m.

No one was inside the building at the time and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available; however, the building suffered extensive damage and is expected to be a complete loss.
