Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Oak Point Highway

Winnipeg, MB – At 9:10 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a single-storey commercial building in the 400 block of Oak Point Highway.

Once on-scene, crews encountered smoke coming from the structure. They entered the building and found fire coming from a paint booth that extended to a wall. They initiated a fire attack, quickly declaring the fire under control at 21:38 p.m..

No occupants were in the building at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. Eagle Drive was temporarily closed to facilitate fire operations.

The building suffered minimal smoke, fire and water damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.
