Winnipeg, MB – At 1:24 a.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in an apartment building in the 100 block of Rosseau Avenue West.
When WFPS crews arrived on scene they encountered smoke coming from the building. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 1:42 a.m. The fire was contained to the suite of origin.
Most occupants of the residence self-evacuated and those remaining were assisted by WFPS crews. One individual was assessed by on-scene paramedics and transported to hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported. Most occupants were able to return to their suites once the fire was extinguished.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.
