Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Mountain Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 10:21 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey apartment building in the 300 block of Mountain Avenue.

Once on-scene, crews encountered white smoke coming from a suite. They launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 10:50 p.m.

No occupants were in the suite at the time of the fire. Crews evacuated residents of other suites as a precaution. No injuries were reported.

Residents were able to return quickly to their suites once their units were safe for reoccupancy.

Damage was contained to the suite of origin. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
