Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Selkirk Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 1:03 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey, commercial and residential mixed-use structure.

When crews arrived on-scene, they encountered heavy smoke coming from the building. They launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 1:32 p.m.

All occupants of the building self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. One individual was assessed and treated by on-scene paramedics but did not require transport to hospital.

The fire remains under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.
