Released: October 26, 2021 at 12:01 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeggers are invited to attend a virtual open house on Monday, November 8, 2021 to learn more about the proposed East of the Red RecPlex and share their feedback.

The East of the Red RecPlex is a proposed 90,000 square foot recreation centre, intended to be a multi-use centre where families and individuals can spend time pursuing different activities in the same location. The proposed recreation centre is planned for the north-west corner of Transcona Boulevard and Plessis Road, next to the Transcona Library.

In 2018, the City of Winnipeg prepared a Feasibility Study for the East of the Red RecPlex. We are working on an update to the 2018 Feasibility Study, to revise the project design and cost estimates, explore funding options, and gather feedback from residents to ensure the proposed facility and amenities continue to align with residents’ needs.

In addition to the virtual open house, an online survey is also available. Feedback will be accepted until November 15, 2021.

For more information about the virtual open house, to complete the online survey, and for more information about the proposed facility, visit: winnipeg.ca/eastofthered.
