Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Public Library is pleased to announce that Anna Leventhal is its new Writer-in-Residence for 2021-2022, and will be available for consultations beginning October 1, 2021.
Leventhal is an author and editor whose short stories and non-fiction articles have been featured in publications such as Geist, Maisonneuve, and the Toronto Star. She's the author of the award-winning short fiction collection Sweet Affliction, and has been longlisted for the Journey Prize and nominated for Pushcart and Canada Writes prizes.
Leventhal has led creative writing workshops for a wide variety of audiences including high schools, colleges and adult writers of many levels of experience, and has worked one-on-one with emerging writers through the Québec Writers’ Federation’s mentorship program.
“As a writer I'm always taking in new ideas and methods and forms of inspiration, and I aim to enter into a mentor-mentee relationship with that spirit of open exchange,” said Leventhal.

Leventhal’s term as Writer-in-Residence at the Winnipeg Public Library runs until April 30, 2022.
