Winnipeg, MB – At 6:29 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey house in the 300 block of Boyd Avenue.
When crews arrived on scene, they encountered smoke coming from the structure. Initially they launched a defensive attack but were able to transition to an interior offensive attack when it became safe to enter the building. The fire was declared under control at 7:03 p.m.
All occupants self-evacuated prior to crew arrival. No injuries were reported.
The City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services team was dispatched to the scene to assist displaced residents in finding alternate accommodations until the home is safe for re-occupancy.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are currently available.
