Winnipeg, MB – The annual TD Summer Reading Club, Canada’s biggest bilingual summer reading program, begins today at the Winnipeg Public Library. Children up to age 12 can participate with a free bilingual reading kit available at all libraries. Please phone ahead to arrange contactless pick-up.
The official website for the Club launches Tuesday, June 15. Participants can sign up online to explore recommended reads, track their own reading, write stories and book reviews, and discover jokes, trivia and colouring sheets.
Pre-readers can also participate by being read to by parents, siblings, or caregivers. Reading aloud to pre-school children supports early literacy skill development and improves school readiness. The Club runs until Tuesday, August 31.
The Teen Summer Reading Challenge, for Grades 7 to 12, includes an activity challenge card, available by phoning any branch to request contactless pick up or downloadable at Winnipeg Public Library – Booked
