Feedback will help inform new Archives Strategy

Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg’s archival collection is one of the most complete in Canada and continues to grow. As part of the next phase of public engagement on the Archives Strategy, Winnipeg residents are invited to share their thoughts on service improvements and future facility options for City Archives by taking the survey, or attending one of the virtual events in June:

Date: Wednesday, June 16
Time: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Location: Zoom, register here

Date: Thursday, June 17
Time: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: Zoom, register here

The Archives Strategy will outline the City’s vision for the future of the archival collection, including a long-term, sustainable solution to address the storage and preservation needs for the archival collection, to allow enough space for its programming, and to create an accessible space that allows Winnipeggers to continue to have access to records and conduct research.

Public feedback will help ensure that the final recommended strategy anticipated to be presented for Council’s consideration in late 2021 reflects community values.

Feedback is being accepted until July 5. For more information and to get involved, visit: winnipeg.ca/archivesstrategy.
