Winnipeg, MB – At 7:53 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half storey house in the 600 block of Burrows Avenue.
Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered smoke in the structure and launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control at 8:16 a.m.
Occupants of the house self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. One individual was assessed by paramedics on scene and transported to hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
