Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to two overnight fires

Winnipeg, MB – At 2:02 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a commercial building in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue West.

When crews arrived on scene, there was heavy smoke coming from the building. Crews launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 3:07 a.m. Crews searched the building and no occupants were located. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available.

Dumoulin Street

At 3:17 a.m., the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a one-storey home in the 400 block of Dumoulin Street. When crews arrived on scene, smoke was coming from the home. Crews launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 4:21 a.m.

All occupants safely self-evacuated before crews arrived. Paramedics assessed two patients on scene but no transportation to hospital was required.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available.
