Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Isabel Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 2:32 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a vacant two-storey apartment building in the 200 block of Isabel Street.

When crews arrived on scene, they encountered flames and smoke coming from the building. Crews launched an offensive fire attack, but deteriorating conditions required crews to transition to a defensive attack using an aerial ladder. The fire was declared under control at 4:04 a.m.

Crews searched the building and confirmed there were no occupants inside. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
