Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg is inviting residents to provide input into an active transportation link between St. Boniface and Downtown.
The St. Boniface to Downtown Walk Bike Project aims to improve travel choices, accessibility, and connectivity between the Esplanade Riel footbridge/Provencher Bridge and the multi-use path on Archibald Street south of Nairn Avenue.
This connection was identified as a priority in the Council-approved Pedestrian and Cycling Strategies, which guide the development of pedestrian and cycling infrastructure that meets the needs of all ages and abilities.
As part of the first phase of a preliminary design study, the project team is asking Winnipeggers to provide information on how they travel through the project area, and also what type and routing of infrastructure they feel would best serve their needs.

Participate online
Visit the project website to provide feedback through an online survey, and interactive mapping tool. These online tools will be available until September 23, 2020.
Engage in-person: Tour-it Tuesdays
Join us on a tour through the neighbourhood, where we’ll walk and talk together to identify key barriers and opportunities. All tours depart from the St. Boniface city hall, 219 Provencher Blvd.
Date: Tuesday, September 15, 2020
North tour: 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
South tour: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Date: Tuesday, September 22, 2020
North tour: 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
South tour: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Project team members will remain at the St. Boniface city hall through the duration of the events to talk to anyone who wants to weigh in but doesn’t want to or can’t participate in the walking tour. In the case of inclement weather, tours will be cancelled and all project staff will remain inside the meeting place to answer questions and discuss the project.
