Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Arlington Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 9:35 p.m. on August 5, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey house in the 400 block of Arlington Street.

When crews arrived on scene, they encountered smoke coming from the home. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 9:52 p.m.

All eight occupants of the home safely self-evacuated before crews arrived. No injuries were reported. The City’s Emergency Social Services team was engaged to assist the displaced residents in finding temporary accommodations.

Preliminary observations suggest the cause of the fire was accidental. No damage estimates are available.
