Freight House outdoor swimming pool opens today

Winnipeg, MB – The Freight House Recreation Centre outdoor pool, located at 200 Isabel Street, will be open for public use today. This is a free non-heated pool and operates from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily. A spray pad is also available at this site and is open from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.

Pre-registering for a two-hour swim block is encouraged. Walk-ups are permitted, however may be turned away if the pool is at capacity. Pool capacities are limited to ensure social distancing guidelines are maintained and following provincial guidelines. Individuals must maintain a distance of at least two metres from every other individual who is not in their household. Pools will be closed to the public for 30 minutes between the two-hour swim blocks for a full cleaning and disinfecting of all areas.

Access to lockers and change rooms/showers will be limited; please come dressed to swim. There will be limited quantities of lifejackets and no other equipment on-site for public use; however, swimmers may bring their own lifejackets and flutter boards. Hand sanitizing stations will be available at each entrance.
