Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Toronto Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 11:02 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a vacant house on fire in the 500 block of Toronto Street.

When crews arrived on scene, they encountered heavy smoke coming from the home. Crews launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 11:31 a.m.

Crews searched the house and confirmed there were no occupants inside. One firefighter sustained a minor injury and did not require transportation to hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
