Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Mountain Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 5:54 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey apartment block in the 300 block of Mountain Avenue. When crews arrived on scene they encountered heavy smoke coming from one of the suites.

An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 6:10 p.m. Damage was contained to a single suite.

Occupants of the complex self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. They were able to return to their suites after the fire was extinguished and smoke was cleared from the building. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are currently available.
