Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Agnes Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 3:27 a.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in two-storey, multi-family home in the 600 block of Agnes Street.

When crews arrived on scene, they encountered smoke and flames coming from the building. Crews launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 3:45 a.m.

All occupants self-evacuated prior to crew arrival. Paramedics assessed one individual on scene, and the individual did not require transport to hospital. Firefighters located a cat, birds, and a lizard in the home and reunited the pets with their owner.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no damage estimates are available.
