Winnipeg, MB – At 2:37 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half-storey, single family home in the 1500 block of Pacific Avenue West. Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the home. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 3:25 a.m.
There were no occupants in the house at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental due to a malfunctioning bathroom exhaust fan. No damage estimates are available at this time but the home suffered significant fire, smoke, and water damage.
