Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service Update: Multiple overnight fires

Winnipeg, MB –The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a number of fires
this evening. The first call came in at 8:49 p.m. reporting a fire in the rear of the 400
block of Mountain Avenue. Crews responded and extinguished a garage fire.

A second garage fire to the rear of the 500 block of College Avenue was reported at
9:11 p.m. This fire was also knocked down quickly.

At 9:41 a fire in an attached garage in a home in the 700 block of Redwood Avenue was
reported. This fire was declared under control at 9:58 p.m.

The next fire was reported at 9:58 p.m. Once on scene crews found the third garage fire
of the evening in the rear of the 700 block of Aberdeen Avenue. This one was declared
under control at 10:16 p.m.

Following these four fires, crews responded to two additional garbage fires, one in the
back lane of Magnus Avenue and another on Manitoba Avenue.

No injuries were reported as a result of these six fires.

All incidents are under investigation but are considered suspicious. Anyone with any
information is asked to contact Winnipeg Police Service.
