Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to house fire on Bowman Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 4:41 p.m. on January 21, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a house fire in a one-and-a-half storey, single-family home in the 500 block of Bowman Avenue.

Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered flames and smoke coming from the home. Crews launched an offensive interior attack, declaring the fire under control at 5:03 p.m.

All occupants self-evacuated before crew arrival. One patient was transported to hospital in stable condition. Crews rescued the occupants’ cats and dogs and reunited them with their owners.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available, but initial reports indicate the home sustained damage from fire, smoke, and water.
