Motorists are reminded to drive to conditions

Winnipeg, MB – City crews are ready-to-serve and prepared to deal with the forecasted snow.

Crews are monitoring road conditions and stand ready to plow roadways as required. Accumulations of snow will be monitored and further decisions will be made as the weather system passes through the city. Ice control activities, including sanding, are undertaken city-wide to improve traction on roadways as conditions warrant.

A snow route parking ban is currently in effect.

As outlined in the Council Approved Policy on Snow and Ice Control, sanding and plowing efforts will initially be focused on main routes (Priority 1) and bus routes and collector streets (Priority 2).

During major plowing operations, residents can stay up-to-date on the progress of snow clearing by viewing the snow clearing status map. Residents can use the map to search an address, and view the percentage completed by geographic area for P1 and P2 streets, as well as sidewalks and pathways.

Residents can view street priority by searching an address on our street priority map, in addition to viewing snow routes on a searchable map. You can also use the online address lookup tool, download the Know Your Zone app, or contact 311 for more information.
